This hunting lease is leased and not available. Base Camp Leasing has 252 acres available for immediate leasing in Rensselaer County, New York. This lease is 100% wooded and is less than 20 miles from Albany, New York and the Massachusetts border. This will make a great hunting lease for hunters from Massachusetts or southern Vermont. The WMU is (4K) and both residents and non-residents have a high probability of drawing a DMP tag. This is upland hunting at its best. The landowner puts a lot of time, money , and effort into his property to ensure the hunters have a great experience. The landowner requires that he shows the property to potential leasers and the lease is contingent upon his approval after meeting you. I saw turkeys several times on this property. I saw excellent deer sign on my inspection. Owner states he has seen and recorded on trail cameras numerous bear, deer and turkeys on this lease. There are a great number of large red oaks on the property providing acorns for the deer. This property will hunt bigger than the 252 acres. I recommend you check out the aerial photo and TOPO closely. The back south eastern portion of the property (2/3 of total acreage) is a plateau. The landowner and I walked the steepest part in the northeast corner without trouble (this is the main access point). Access is further enhanced by a crushed stone parking area, along with a concrete ATV off-loading dock. The ATV trails can be maintained and upgraded with minimal effort. The border is 90% posted and painted a bright color. In the coming year the south easterly border will be surveyed, blazed, painted and posted. The landowner maintains an intensive border marking posting policy, so there is no encroachment from adjacent properties. Town regulations prohibit camping or recreational activities. This hunting lease is limited to a 2.5% annual price increase.
